Bachelor of Nursing – Rural Community Route
Alberta Health Services in collaboration with the University of Calgary is providing the opportunity to get a four-year undergraduate registered nursing degree in Wainwright!
- Program launched in September 2021
- Open to Alberta residents that live within a 120km radius of the Town of Wainwright
- Program delivered online and in-person in the Wainwright area
- 4 year program
- September admission only with staggered intake

Health Care Aide Program
Lakeland College has offered the Health Care Aide program in Wainwright in 2016, 2018 and 2022.
A $9000 tuition bursary is available, paid out in two installments; $3000 after completion of courses 1-5 and $6000 paid after all courses have been completed and successful completion of the provincial exam. To be eligible students must sign a return of service agreement agreeing to work 2,000 hours, within two years of commencing employment with a continuing care operator (CC). CC operators include Wainwright Long Term Care and Points West Living. Lakeland College Health Care Aide students are eligible for this bursary. Please apply HERE
